In order to get the best possible performance from cast:stream, it is important to set up your computer to match your internet connection. This is usually done when you install QuickTime. During installation you are asked for your internet connection speed, for example 56K modem, DSL, or corporate LAN. If you did not specify your connection speed when you installed QuickTime, or if your Internet connection has changed since then, you should set the connection speed in the QuickTime pane of System Preferences (Mac OS X).
